Native Perennials was established in 2008 by Maryland-native herself, Katherine Phillips. As a resident of Frederick County for 40 years, she has watched much more than her garden grow-- she is a wife, mother of two, and grandmother of five! As a Master Gardener, Katherine grows native plants that are hard to find and rarely available. She is passionate about restoration projects and helping others add native plants to their gardens. When she's not busy propagating and planting, Katherine enjoys cooking (especially baking), traveling, and the challenge of a good crossword or Sudoku puzzle.

As young girls, they watched their mother's love for cooking and baking turn into magic. She instilled the joy of doing a job well in her daughters. She helped start Pearl's Homemade Goodies in 1986 and since then, the sisters have run the company together.

Remaining small has allowed them to ensure the quality and special touch they learned from their mother goes into every delicious goodie they create.
